Graphic Anarchy: Winston Smith, John Heartfield and Savage Pencil discuss their artwork [VIDEO]

Radical collage artist Winston Smith who has worked with Green Day, Dead Kennedys, dozens of other groups and publications, popped up for a rare UK appearance in the Orbital Gallery.

As if that weren’t enough in the evening Winston was in conversation with the legendary Savage Pencil to discuss his art and motives, accompanied by a unique slideshow.

Joining Winston in this talk was John Heartfield. John is the grandson of the well-known anti-Nazi photo montage genius of the same name. Heartfield the senior risked life and limb throughout the 1930s and the wartime era creating searing anti-Hitler agit-prop art to combat the Nazi propaganda machine. So now John curates an online gallery of his grandfather’s artwork.
